Ki Mobility Donates Wheelchairs to Stevens Point Public Schools to Enhance Student Accessibility
Stevens Point, Wis.— The Stevens Point Area Public School District is honored to announce a generous donation of six wheelchairs from Ki Mobility. This contribution, which includes two wheelchairs for SPASH, one for P.J. Jacobs Junior High, one for Ben Franklin Junior High, and two for use by elementary schools, will significantly improve the response to students who find themselves in special circumstances, such as sudden injuries, fainting episodes, or unexpected illness.
The SPAPSD Safety and Security Task Force has been working closely with district nurses to assess the current state of their supplies and address any gaps. During this process, it was noted that many of the existing wheelchairs were outdated, rusty, hand-me-down models that were no longer sufficient to meet the unique needs of some students. With the generous support from Ki Mobility, these new wheelchairs will replace the old ones and provide the essential support required to promote student independence and well-being.
“At Ki Mobility, we believe in empowering individuals and fostering inclusivity,” said Leisa Higgins, representative of Ki Mobility. “We are honored to partner with the Stevens Point School District in providing these wheelchairs and making a positive impact on the lives of these students.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Ki Mobility for their commitment to our students and for making such a meaningful contribution to our schools,” said Lance Lewis of the Safety and Security Task Force. “These wheelchairs will make a world of difference for our students, enabling them to participate in school activities and experience a sense of inclusion that every child deserves.”
